MICAA is proud to have been a part of Feed Your Future – Engaging youth for creative climate action, a project by the School of Artivism, co-curated by Julia Rajacic and Tiziana Pers, supported by the Association Internationale pour la Biennale des Jeunes Créateurs d’Europe et de la Méditerranée – BJCEM – and co-funded by the European Union.
Our participation in the cycle of seminars, whose goal was to explore how art can generate real-world impact through ecological and social engagement with a team of selected artists chosen through an open call, focused on the role of artistic activism in humanitarian contexts.
Through the contributions of Stefano Carini, Vittorio Sancipriano and Nicolò Marinelli, MICAA’s discourse was built around the key principles that can help bring about positive change and shift the narrative, and how to navigate the complicated relationships that emerge between artistic activism and the universe of institutions and other organisations, particularly regarding the issue of funding and artistic independence.
